You season four was given an early renewal for Netflix and fans were delighted to hear the show’s future had been prolonged. The news came on October 13, two days ahead of the release of the third season. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about season four and what to expect.
When is You season 4 out?
Fans were thrilled to hear the nailbiting psychological thriller will be returning for another tense outing.
A teaser video was shared by Netflix and it shows Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley) stalking his first love, Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail).
He is heard saying: “I would do anything for you, I just want to be good enough for you.”
Fans then see his wife, Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), as he opens up about how hard he has worked for the women he desires.
The words “for you” are repeated before a message ‘4 You’ appears on the screen.
This message turns into ‘You 4’, confirming a fourth outing is on the way.
At this moment in time, it is too early to say when the new season would arrive, but it is likely to be in late 2022.
Who will be in the cast of You season 4?
As season three has only just arrived, it is difficult to say who will star in the fourth season.
It is Badgley will reprise his role after he travelled to Paris to track down Marienne (Tati Gabrielle).
Deadline confirmed casting news for the new season will be announced at a later date.
As Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) met her demise at the end of the season, it is unlikely she will return.
Is there a trailer for You season 4?
As season three has only just arrived, there is no trailer for season four at this moment in time.
Netflix usually drops trailers in the weeks leading up to a show’s release, with the season three trailer arriving in September.
With this in mind, the season four trailer is unlikely to arrive until a month before the official release date, which could come in October 2022.
In the meantime, fans have the teaser trailer to keep them guessing what may happen.
Fans took to the teaser comments to share their excitement, with Cheri J.Dozier saying: “This is one of the most highly anticipated returns since the pandemic started. CAN NOT WAIT!”
What will happen in You season 4?
It is hard to say what season four will entail until fans have watched the season three finale.
Season four is likely to pick up directly after the events of the final season three episode.
This means Joe will appear in Paris on the hunt for his latest obsession, Marienne.
Sera Gamble, the show’s creator, said: “Reading Caroline [Kepnes]’s novel, Greg and I were instantly obsessed with Joe Goldberg and his twisted world view.
“And it’s been thrilling to watch Penn bring Joe to creepy yet compelling life.
“We’re deeply grateful that Netflix has shown You such monumental support, and that people around the world have enjoyed watching Joe really get it all very wrong over the past three seasons.
“The whole You team is excited to explore new, dark facets of love in season four.”
The reference to ‘new facets of love’ could mean that Joe Goldberg is no longer at the heart of the series.
Maggie Swan said on YouTube: “They should give an award to Badgley for such great work. He portraits a sociopath guy in such a way that we are all both kinda amazed and scared.”
You season 4 will air on Netflix.
