The high-kicking, bone-crushing fantasy series that is Wu Assassins arrived on Netflix on August 8 and lived up to its high-billing. With a cast boasting the likes of Vikings star Kathryn Winnick as CG and Star Wars alumni Iko Uwais as Kai Jin, Wu Assassins brought a number of big-name actors together for the hit series. One character, however, Tommy Wah (played by Lawrence Kao) has left fans wanting to know more about the actor who plays him.
Who plays Tommy Wah in Wu Assassins?
Tommy Wah in Wu Assassins is played by American actor, Lawrence Kao.
Kao takes on the role of Tommy Wah in almost every episode of Wu Assassins, making a lasting impression on viewers.
Prior to landing the role on the Netflix series Kao has starred in the following big-named movies and TV series.
One of Kao’s biggest roles happened to be one of his first on the small screen.
The actor played Tim for a handful of episodes back in season three AMC horror series The Walking Dead.
From there, he went on to star in hit US crime drama NCIS: Los Angeles and Hawaii Five-O.
He’s also landed recurring roles in The CW drama The Originals as well as an upcoming part in USA Network series The Purge.
However, it isn’t just the small screen Kao has made an impact.
In film, Kao’s most notable acting credit came in the 2015 action-paced thriller Insurgent.
He starred opposite the likes of Oscar-winner Kate Winslet and two-time Golden Globe-nominee Shailene Woodley in the sci-fi flick.
His movie career also saw him secure parts in Max Steel and I Hate You.
Fans may also recognise Kao for his role in Lucy Fifty, Silver Lake, Circle and A Better Place.
Wu Assassins is undoubtedly one of Wah’s biggest roles to date although his character had a rather tough time of things.
By the season finale, Tommy lies lifeless and bleeding out after a beating from the evil Alec McCullough (Tommy Flanagan).
However, he’s healed and brought back following a deal between Kai and McCullough.
Not is all as it seems, however, and the season finale ends with an almighty cliffhanger.
Wu Assassins is available to stream on Netflix now.
