Who is James Jordan? Dancing on Ice contestant who was on Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Big Brother before

The outspoken star has been keeping TV fans entertained since he burst onto prime time screens in 2006 – complete with sequins. Here is the lowdown…

Who is James Jordan and where is he from?

James was born in April 13, 1978 in Gillingham, Kent to parents Sharon and Andrew, who used to teach at the famous Peggy Spencer’s Dance School in Penge. James has a sister called Kelly.

He was educated at the St John Fisher Catholic School in Chatham.

James is a keen sportsman and likes golf, tennis, pool, squash and riding his motorbike.

The twinkle-toed performer began dancing at the age of 13 but admits he was pushed into it by his parents and his sister, who used to dance a child but stopped as she got older.

He said he only went along for a laugh but soon developed a passion for it and his teachers, seeing his potential, would enter him in competitions.

By the age of 18, he knew this was his career path and started working with his father to earn money to fund his classes.

James joined the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing in 2006 and was partnered with actress Georgina Bouzova and they were the fourth couple to be eliminated.

The following year, he was teamed with sports presenter Gaby Logan whose husband was teamed with Ola.

In 2011, the year he was partnered with One Show host Alex James, he fell out with judge Craig Revel Horwood after he slated Alex and he and Ola were then dropped from the Strictly tour that year.

James quit Strictly in 2013 following series 11 of the show.

Who is James Jordan married to?

James and Ola met at a dance competition in Blackpool in 1999 but James already had a girlfriend.

A few months later, James flew to her native Poland in an attempt to get her to be his dance partner.

A few hours later she agreed to come to England to train with him and moved to Kent.

A couple of years later, he broke up with his girlfriend and he and Ola became an item. They married in 2003 and lived in Hong Kong for four years teaching dance.
