Emily Steel is taking on the alter ego of Dynamite in the new series of Gladiators.

The show is coming back for a reboot with an all-new cast.

It will feature some old classic games as well as some new challenges.

Talking about being a new Gladiator, Emily said: "I'm too young to remember the original Gladiators, but my parents loved it and suggested I try out.

What weightlifting record does Emily Steel hold?

Emily is definitely prepared to be a Gladiator as she already holds a weightlifting record.

She recently competed internationally at one of the largest fitness festivals in the world and became an under 23's weightlifting British record holder.

Emily has a background in swimming, competing at a national level until she was 15 years old.

She’s now a full-time elite CrossFit athlete, also taking on her second year studies full time at university in sport and exercise science.

What age is Emily Steel?

Emily is the youngest Gladiator in the show, at just 20-years-old, as of June 2023.

It's not known exactly when her birthday is.

Announcing that she was joining Gladiators, she wrote: "Well this is a little bit of a plot twist…

"I’ve learnt to come to terms with the fact that I’m actually now a real life Gladiator, eek!

"Sometimes the unplanned, spontaneous things in life are the most exciting ones.

2I’ve trained and worked hard all my life and out of every sport I’ve tried, every opportunity I’ve had, or every medal I’ve won, this by far is one of the greatest things."

She explained that the show is out of her "comfort zone" but she is ready for the challenge.
