This Morning’s Tuesday hosts confirmed amid off-screen ‘feud’ and Phil’s exit

The stand-in hosts for Tuesday's episode of This Morning have been revealed, after Phillip Schofield's immediate exit and Holly Willoughby deciding to take some time off.

On Saturday, Phillip Schofield, 61, confirmed he was stepping down from the show with immediate effect amid reports of a feud with co-host Holly, 42.

It was later confirmed that Holly was taking some time off for half term and will not return to the show until Monday 5 June.

As a result, Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, who normally present Friday episodes of the ITV show, fronted Monday's programme.

At the end of Monday's episode, the pair confirmed that they will be returning to host the show on Tuesday.

Alison, 48, said goodbye to viewers by saying: "On tomorrow's This Morning, Wham's Andrew Ridgeley will be live in the studio to reveal how he's celebrating his 40th anniversary."

Dermot, 49, confirmed their return as he said: "And money man Martin Lewis is going to help you with your financial concerns. We'll see you tomorrow!"

Ending the show Alison added: "See you tomorrow!"

It is looking likely that the duo will present the show for the rest of the week, as they used to when Phil and Holly were on holiday.

As Monday's episode of the show kicked off, Alison and Dermot paid tribute to Phillip.

They started by saying: "We all know he’s one of the best live television broadcasters this country has ever had.”

Dermot then added: "Everyone on and off screen at ITV and This Morning want to say a huge thank you to Phil for what he’s done to make the show such a success over the last 21 years."

Phillip's leaving statement was released on Saturday as he said: "I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.

"Throughout my career in TV – including the difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind.

"I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.

"So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future."

He finished up by saying: "I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers – and I’ll see you all for the Soap Awards next month."

Just two members of the wider This Morning family have paid tribute to the host on social media – chef Clodagh McKenna and host Rochelle Humes.
