PHILLIP Schofield is desperate to get back to This Morning after resorting to odd jobs during his half term break.

The telly star, 60, has given fans an update on his autumn holiday and revealed exactly what he has been up to.

Rather than jetting off abroad for some sunshine, Phillip admitted he has stayed at home and been busy around the house.

Alongside a photograph of bulb packets, he told his Instagram followers: "What did I do in my half term break? …. bulb planting!"

Phillip then posted a snap of his empty cupboards, adding: "And cleaning out the cupboards!!

"Definitely ready to get back on @ThisMorning on Monday!"

The pair's break from the ITV1 daytime show came just days after they were booed while attending the National Television Awards 2022.

As the cast and crew of the show took to the stage to pick up their award for the best daytime TV show, the crowd began loudly jeering.

It comes after Phillip and Holly faced controversy after claims that they skipped the queue for the Queen's lying in state.

A source in the audience said: "The boos in the room were very loud when Holly and Phil were announced as the winners.

"It was really embarrassing.

"Linda Robson from Loose Women didn't clap either. It was all very awkward."

Phillip was overcome with emotion when it was revealed This Morning had seen off competition from Loose Women, The Repair Shop and The Chase.

Collecting the award, the teary TV host said: "Don't think we ever get complacent and please don't think we ever take this for granted. This means so much to us every year, especially this year.
