The Wanted's Tom Parker reveals heartbreaking memory loss from 'brutal' brain tumour treatment

THE Wanted's Tom Parker revealed he's suffering from heartbreaking memory loss from his "brutal" brain tumour treatment.

The singer, 32, revealed to fans on his Instagram account that he's forgetting things he's "just done" throughout the day.

Tom is battling stage four glioblastoma and the treatments have taken a toll on his mental strength.

He told his fans: "As some of you know, I have been through chemo and radio, haven't I?

"Which was pretty god-damn brutal, but some of the side effects from the chemo and radio are you get bad memory loss."

He then turned to wife Kelsey Harwick and asked: "Mine was already bad, wasn't it?"

Kelsey added: "Horrendous already, so now I'm like… literally, it's even worse!"

Tom continued: "But it's the weirdest thing because like, I'll go to her [Kelsey], 'What did I just do?' But I can remember stuff like this…"

He then picked up a necklace from the Disney film Moana.

The singer said: "What have we got? A Heart of Tafiti for Christmas? How do you remember that? Stupid."

Tom, who shot to fame in boy band The Wanted, bravely opened up about his cancer diagnosis earlier this year, with Kelsey later admitting that she has asked doctors not to tell them how long he has to live.

In an interview with OK! Magazine, she said: "We didn’t ask for one. I said that for Tom’s state of mind, and who he is as a person, that would not be good for him.

"He would literally sit here and count down the days and not live his life."

The pair have decided to take the devastating news one step at a time and try to keep themselves in a positive mind set for what the future holds.

The condition is the most common high grade cancerous primary brain tumour in adults, which begins in the brain and can spread very quickly.

The aggressive cancer is difficult to treat and is resistant to treatment, as the cells within the tumour are not all of the same type.

Despite the heartbreaking news, 2020 hasn't been all bad for the couple – who were overjoyed to welcome their first son in October of this year.
