The 'RHOC' Season 16 Cast Shakeup Rumors Have Been Debunked… for Now

Everything is up in the air for The Real Housewives of Orange County. The Bravo franchise ended season 15 earlier this year and the cable network has not announced a new season. Andy Cohen hinted that a “reboot” was about to take place, but there’s nothing official yet. Recently a new rumor hit social media indicating that the majority of the cast would be getting the axed, but how true is it?

What is the tea on ‘RHOC’ Season 16?

The tea on RHOC Season 16 is that the show has not started filming just yet. A year ago today, fans had already known Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge were leaving the franchise and the new cast had been filming the show. With the pandemic pushing back many productions and schedules shifting, the housewives of Orange County are still in limbo about who is returning or getting cut.

A new rumor shared by a popular Instagram account, Deuxmoi, revealed that the majority of the cast would not be asked back.

“Same friend also works at Bravo. RHOC shakeup is coming,” the unverifiable tipster suggested. “Kelly [Dodd], Braunwyn [Windham-Burke], Emily [Simpson], and Elizabeth [Lyn Vargas] are out. Tamra will be back. Heather [Dubrow] and Alexis [Bellino] said no. They’re trying to get Gretchen [Rossi] and her rich Newport [Beach] friends on but Gretchen won’t return if Tamra’s still on the show.”

Is the ‘RHOC’ Season 16 cast rumor true?

It’s worth noting that Deuxmoi doesn’t verify the information being tipped anonymously and people should always take it with a grain of salt. If the rumor was to be believed, the only housewives that would be returning were Shannon Storms Beador and Gina Kirschenheiter.

After the blog posted the item on social media, RHOC fans started messaging Dave Quinn. The latter calls himself a “Housewives scholar,” has friendships with some of the Orange County stars, and writes for some of the most reliable entertainment websites.

Quinn was quick to debunk the rumors by tweeting, “FYI, hat Deux Moi RHOC tea isn’t true, so please stop sending it to me.”

A fan then asked for Quinn to verify if the whole “tea” wasn’t true or just parts of it.

“All of it isn’t true. There been no decisions made yet,” Quinn replied.

On February 16, Dodd replied to a fan that the cast had not heard about who would be returning to the show.

Tamra Judge reacts to ‘RHOC’ cancelation rumors

There have also been rumors that RHOC would be canceled altogether, but that is highly unlikely. The Orange County-based show was the OG of The Real Housewives franchise, it would be unthinkable for Bravo to cut it as it still delivers ratings.

Judge, who left ahead of season 15 after 12 years on the show, recently gave an interview where she addressed rumors the show would be getting axed.

“I heard so many rumors that they’re going to recast the show, that they’re going to cancel it. They’re going to delay it. So, I really don’t know. I don’t have any inside information, that’s for sure. I don’t want to see Orange County get canceled,” Judge told Us Weekly.

Judge’s name was been brought up to return to RHOC, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
