The TV star flashed one hand with red polish – and another unpainted – at the start of today's show.
As the camera zoomed in on the hosts, Piers joked to Susanna: "Show us your hands."
The presenter then flashed up her hands to the camera, revealing she had only painted the nails on her left hand red to match her dress.
She said: "Sorry about that. Not quite ready."
Later on her right hand was seen to be painted suggesting that she had finished them off during a break.
Earlier this year a rogue pot of nail polish was spied by viewers on the side during an interview with an ex-MI5 officer.
It comes as Good Morning Britain fans were left in stitches when Piers was replaced by cameraman Carl live on air.
Viewers joked that they approved of his "better looking" stand-in on the show earlier today as the TV star left Susanna Reid's side to get behind the camera.
Shortly after 6am, Piers decided he could do a better job of filming the programme.
Charlotte Hawkins, the news reader, suggested: "Have a go!"
The outspoken presenter was then seen getting up and placing himself behind the camera, as Susanna called on cameraman Carl to "take a seat".
Piers could be heard asking, "which camera is this?" as he steered the equipment into focus.
Those watching at home took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the hilarious swap.
One wrote: "#GMB #piersmorgan legend"
Of Piers' replacement, another joked: "definitely an improvement :D"
A third teased: "Haha he's better looking"
Meanwhile, back in the studio entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold shared: " Anchorman Attacks! @piersmorgan jib camera takeover @gmb live on air. Let’s hope he’s tightened the nuts #piersmorgan #gmb #itv #humpday"
