Jonah (played by Ben Feldman) and Amy (America Ferrera) have become part of one of the most adorable sitcom romances in recent years during their time in NBC’s Superstore. However, sadly for fans, season six marks their last outing together, with the final ever episode scheduled for release later this year. And saying goodbye to the character is a task harder said than done for Feldman who took to Instagram recently with a sweet farewell statement.

And while it’s clear just how much leaving Jonah behind will hit Feldman, the Superstore star also expressed how this has been made even more difficult as a result of coronavirus guidelines on set.

The Superstore star shared a snap of himself taking part in a virtual table read ahead of the series finale alongside the lengthy post.

To his 212k followers and fans of the sitcom, he wrote: “Tomorrow is the last day I’ll play Jonah Simms. No hugs goodbye, no see you at the wrap party, no awkward drunk conversations at the bar.

“The past year has been a lonely time especially when you’re celebrating, mourning, commemorating, saying goodbye. I think we’re all probably done taking other people for granted.”

He continued: “It’s almost as if other people are the only thing that actually matters.

“I like to think in the end, that’s what Superstore was about. I’m gonna miss these other people dearly.

“But I know I’ll see them again. In person. This is a picture of me in my trailer ‘at’ our final table read. When it was over, I clicked a button and everyone just disappeared.”

Before long, hundreds of fans replied with their emotional and tearful messages of support – including one or two familiar faces.

“This made me teary,” one distraught fan replied, with a second adding: ”Thank you, Ben. You are as talented as you are a really great human being.

“You will be swept up by another project quickly. Stay safe and well. Love to your family.”

“This is literally so upsetting [cry emoji],” a third fan weighed in. “Superstore is one of my biggest comfort shows and Jonah is my favourite. I hope you know how much love all of us fans have for you and the whole cast!”

And Feldman’s co-star Lauren Ash – best known as the hilarious Dina – also responded: “Welp. Here I go again. Love you always, buddy [love heart emoji].”

Ash similarly issued a heartfelt message to Superstore fans on her own page as she too wrapped up her final scenes.

The actor gushed over the cast’s unbreakable bond over the six years they’ve spent on the show, and how everyone pulled together to get the show to air in the midst of the pandemic.

“I couldn’t be more grateful and I couldn’t be more heartbroken. Truly the end of an era.,” Ash signed off her post.

Superstore comes to an end after six hugely successful seasons on NBC for which it’s bagged numerous award nominations and wins.

Jonah, Amy, Dina and the rest of the Cloud Nine employees will appear for a final time in episode 15.

The series finale is currently penned to air on NBC as part of a double-bill on March 25, according to The Futon Critic.

In the UK, fans will be waiting a little while longer for the season six finale with ITV2 still yet to announce a date.

Superstore seasons 1-5 are available to stream on Netflix UK now.
