The trailer for Succession season 3 has landed, with the Roy family preparing for war within their ranks as the patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox) strives to maintain control.
Succession, which premiered in 2018, follows billionaire Logan and his children as they fight to be named the successor of his business empire.
At the end of season two of the comedy-drama, Logan faced an ambush by his son Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong), which he is now scrambling to come back from.
In the upcoming episodes, Logan must convince the members of his clan to back him, as they conspire behind the scenes to claim power for themselves.
In the new sneak peek at the show, Logan is shown losing his cool, resulting in him having to be held back by several people in an office.
‘He’s our dad, but he was going to send me to jail. He’d do the same to all of us,’ Kendall says behind his father’s back, blatantly trying to convince the other members of their family not to trust him.
Siobhan ‘Shiv’ Roy (Sarah Snook), the only daughter in the Roy family, believes that she has what it takes to take over as leader of the family’s business empire.
‘If I back you against dad, you would need to let me take over,’ she says in the trailer, ready to pounce on the prize of overwhelming power.
Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen), Shiv’s husband, is also not one to back away from a fight, telling someone on the phone that they’d ‘better find an animal’s corpse to crawl into and hide’.
Logan, meanwhile, warns that he’s prepared to ‘grind’ someone’s ‘bones to make my bread’.
Whoever said don’t mix business with family might have been onto something.
While Succession fans are undoubtedly excited for the show to return, they might have to savour it while they can.
Last month, series writer and executive producer Georgia Pritchett said that it was likely to end after season four, stating: ‘I think the maximum would be five seasons, but possibly more like four.’
The writer added that they have a ‘good end in sight’.
Succession will return on Sky Atlantic and NOW this autumn.
