Strictly’s second casualty revealed – and fans are devastated

Lee Ryan has become the second celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing 2018.

The former EastEnders actor and Blue singer became the second casualty of the ballroom after failing to impress the judges or the public.

Lee and professional partner Nadiya Bychkova, who were bottom of the judges’ leaderboard, faced off against another ex-EastEnder Charles Venn and pro Karen Clifton.

He survived the dance-off against Susannah Constantine last week but ran out of luck during his second stint in the bottom two.

Emotional Lee looked gutted to be going so soon as the curtain came down on Movie Week and his time in the competition.

Both couples performed their routines again, with Lee and Nadiya having another go at their Cha Cha Cha to The Power Of Love from the movie Back To The Future.

While Charles and Karen performed their American Smooth to Up Where We Belong from the movie An Officer and a Gentleman, in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

The judges looked set to make a unanimous decision to send Lee Marty McFlying home.

Craig Revel Horwood said: “The better dancers for me on the night were Charles and Karen.”

Darcey Bussell agreed: “I wish both these couples weren’t here so it’s tough but the better couple for me was Charles and Karen.”

Sealing Lee’s fate, Bruno Tonioli said: “They were both very very good I have to say that. Very hard, but I have to pick Charles and Karen.”

But head judge Shirley revealed actually disagreed with the rest of the panel.

Shirley said: “I would have gone with Lee on the musical performance from this evening.”

When asked by Tess about his time on the show, Lee admitted he would treasure the experience for life.

The singer said: “I’ve had a really lovely time, even though it’s been short it seems like I’ve been here a long time because it’s been so intense, it’s been amazing.

"I love these guys, I absolutely love every single one of them. There’s so much love in everyone it’s been a memory that I will treasure for the rest of my life, I really will.”

When asked if she had any words for Lee, gutted Nadiya said: “Just stay the way you are because you’re such an amazing person and I love you so much.”
