Strictly Come Dancing isn’t far off now and already excitement is in the air. So much so, that judge Craig Revel Horwood, couldn’t wait to keep his sassy comments about the contestants to himself. And it seems he has his eyes on actor Bill Bailey.

I’m looking forward to the disasters!

In a recent chat he noted that Bill will be one to watch this year, but for all the wrong reasons.

When asked how the 55-year-old will perform on the dance floor, Craig remarked: “Terrible.

“I’m looking forward to the disasters!”

Hey ho, we all need a chuckle after very tough and concerning year.

And disaster or not, it’s the taking part that counts – it’s all in the name of fun!

Viewers might also be looking forward to a little bit of trial and error as some admitted they prefer celebrities to appear on the show as complete dancing novices with no prior experience.

It comes after fellow contestant Maisie Smith, revealed she had taken lessons in hip hop and street dance.

The EastEnders actress didn’t shy away from her dancing history and made it public knowledge that she can throw some shapes.

In 2019, she wowed viewers with her incredible performance in Strictly’s Children In Need special, where she danced the cha-cha with Kevin Clifton.

“I’m not going to lie, I’ve got dancing experience,” she said on This Morning.

“I’ve done a bit of hip-hop and street dance throughout my time but I have no technical ability at all.

“But who knows, I could be the dark horse.”

Despite insisting her win was a “fluke”, fans are a little concerned that her experience will give her a “head start”.

Taking to social media, one viewer wrote: “I really like Maisie but not only is she professionally trained already, but she was also trained by Strictly professionals themselves for a Children in Need special.

“As is the case every year, some contestants are given a head start against the others and that isn’t fair.”

Someone else agreed with the observation: “Hoping someone else wins, who is not trained or had a go before.”

Another believed it was time for the show “to end”, saying: “This year the professional dancers are the celebrity’s, definitely time for this show to end.”

Others also voiced their hopes to see celebs start from the very beginning, learning to get to grips with the footwork instead of acting on previous experience.

Maybe Bill’s “two left feet” will give us all the pick-me-up we need!

Strictly return next month to BBC One.
