Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) is set to be left crushed in Coronation Street as he learns that the crime he committed as a getaway driver with Scott (Tom Roberts) decades ago resulted in the death of a security guard.
Unable to cope with the guilt of the damage he has done, Johnny prepares to turn himself into the police – but after he confesses to wife Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) will she stand by him or turn her back on her husband?
Scott threatens Johnny, promising that if he goes down for armed robbery, he’ll take him with him. Finding an old newspaper article about the robbery he was involved in years ago, Johnny heads out.
At an elderly lady’s house Johnny asks after Rob who used to live there. Margaret reveals that Rob was her son, he survived a terrible robbery many years ago but it ruined his life and he died an alcoholic. Johnny’s devastated. Back at home an ashen-faced Johnny tells Jenny that there’s something he needs to share with her.
Jenny is rocked to the core with what Johnny has to say but after a while, she decides that they can potentially move past this as surely he has been punished enough – but at this stage, Johnny has omitted the detail that Rob died.
As Scott then rocks up and reveals the full truth, Johnny then makes a big decision and heads to the police station. Will he and Scott be going down?
