Spoilers: Emmerdale star reveals Nate's 'shock' reaction to Tracy's pregnancy

Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) and Nate Robinson (Jurrel Carter) get quite the shock in Emmerdale, as a trip to the hospital results in them both discovering that Tracy is pregnant.

Following an incident on the farm which sees Tracy end up with an injured wrist, both she and Nate go to the hospital.

However, ahead of the scan, she has a urine sample taken, and later learns that she’s pregnant — a discovery which leaves both her and Nate in complete and utter shock.

Speaking about Nate’s reaction to such news, actor Jurell Carter told Metro.co.uk: ‘I think he’s just completely terrified.

‘She’s on the pill and they’re enjoying that side of the relationship as well, I think they’re a quite intimate couple but I think they’re both playing it safe so I think this comes as a massive shock.

‘I think Nate’s terrified and of course with his own family relations it makes him in a more terrified state.’

Yes, Nate has had a tough time since arriving in the village — what with him having come to realise that dad Cain (Jeff Hordley) wasn’t the monster he thought he was — and his actions led to him becoming public enemy number one.

Therefore, he doesn’t have a lot of people in his corner, which will no doubt be tough for him following Tracy’s news.

Jurell continued: ‘I think he’s going to be his own worst critic and worst demon, I think he’s going to be hard on himself.

‘He’s developed a very nice relationship with James Hooton’s character, Sam. I think he’s got that Uncle figure there and they’ve had quite a few nice scenes where almost like a fatherly figure.

‘It’s been that nice kind of elder and younger relationship between the two so I think he’s got Sam as a confidante but I also think obviously his mum, he’s got a really strong relationship with his mum.’

Fatherhood isn’t something Nate’s had to consider thus far, and his difficult relationship with his own dad will no doubt play on his mind, which could make for some pretty interesting scenes.

Jurell told us: ‘Nate can do a good job, but I think he’s easily strayed. He often acts out with emotion rather than logic. So I think it is going to be interesting to see how he manages it. How he does it, who knows.’
