Carla Connor (Alison King) stood up to tormentors Chesley (Isobella Hubbard) and Jordan (James Boyland) in Coronation Street, but it seems as if the pair’s exit comes back to haunt her tonight, as she makes a devastating discovery.
The latest episode of the ITV soap saw Carla refuse to be blackmailed by Chesley and Jordan, and therefore she revealed the truth to all those present in the Rovers — rendering the leverage the tormentors had on her useless.
Scott (Tom Roberts) and Abi (Sally Carman) wasted little time in kicking the pair out of the pub.
However, matters became somewhat complicated when an irate Peter (Chris Gascoyne) — who’d nipped out of the boozer following the altercation — returned later in the night, and silenced a radio report of an assault on Brightwell Estate.
With VE Day approaching, Carla takes it upon herself to decorate the Rovers, and as she does so, she thanks Scott for getting rid of Chelsey and Jordan.
Scott suggests that she should be owing her gratitude to Abi more so than him, so Carla later pays her a visit at the garage with a bottle of wine in hand — thanking the mechanic for fighting her corner.
Abi reveals that she’s got a past the she’d also rather forget, and therefore she knows what it’s like.
As Carla heads off, she spots the gazette — and is instantly drawn to the headline.
The paper reveals that there’s been an assault on Brightwell Estate — and she begins to wonder if Chelsey and Jordan were the victims.
We know that later in the week she confronts Peter and accuses him of being responsible for the attack — but was it him who carried it out?
Coronation Street continues Monday 22 June at 7:30pm on ITV.
