The Loose Women presenter, who was a contestant on last year's Strictly Come Dancing, said there was "no excuse" for their behaviour and blasted the dance partners for overstepping the mark on today's show.
Ruth, who was partnered with Anton du Beke on the show, said that she and the dancer might have shared a hug or a peck on the cheek at the end of a rehearsal but they certainly knew their limits.
She said: "Eamonn [Holmes] didn't worry about me and Anton because I wouldn't behave like that.
"We were up close and personal like everybody else everyday but that didn't mean I was snogging his face off.
"We'd have a hug at the end of the day and said, 'Well done, partner. See you tomorrow.'"
Despite the couple labelling the kiss a "drunken mistake", Ruth blasted: "It's not an excuse, for me."
The This Morning host then admitted she would never forgive husband Eamonn if he had been the offender, despite the pair having been together for more than two decades.
She said: "I wish I could be that grown up. Even if I said, 'We've had 22 years together, we've got a child', I would be so hideous to him – he would probably walk out the door anyway."
Katya and Seann shocked fans when photos emerged of the Strictly partners kissing during a boozy night out in London last Wednesday, despite both being in relationships.
Katya, who is married to Strictly Come Dancing professional Neil Jones, was the first to hold her hands up.
She told fans on Twitter: “I’m so sorry about any offence or hurt I have caused with my actions.
“I wasn’t thinking and it was a one off mistake after some drinks.
I love my husband and we are very happy together, this is not a reflection on our relationship.”
Seann, 32, followed suit and added: “In light of the story in today's newspaper I would like to offer my sincere apologies for my actions.
This is no excuse but it was a one-off drunken mistake which I am truly sorry for."
