Rihanna shelves plans to release new music to launch own skincare line

SHE’S been teasing fans for what feels like years over her new album, and now Rihanna has dealt a sucker blow to their hopes.

I can reveal the star has shelved plans for new music and is launching her own skincare range following the success of other US stars including the Kardashians.

The Work singer has trademarked a new line called Buff Ryder, with insiders saying she wants to become a beauty billionaire after Covid destroyed the music industry.

A Riri source said: “Rihanna’s ninth album is on hold indefinitely.

"She wants to make her millions with beauty and is planning a new skincare line to go alongside her Fenty Cosmetics range.

“Her lingerie range has gone down so well too that she feels she needs to strike while the iron’s hot. Whenever she drops pics of her modelling the gear, sales go up.”

Thanks to her music and Fenty brand, Rihanna has amassed a £480million fortune.

Kylie Jenner was given billionaire status last year — although this was taken away in May — and big sister Kim Kardashian has just been given the same, thanks largely to their beauty ranges.

Rihanna’s last album, Anti, was in 2016 and since then the new project has been dubbed R9.

The insider added: “Fans hopes for R9 will be kept on hold while Rihanna builds her beauty empire as she plots to become the next beauty billionaire.

She’s realised there is more money in the beauty game than music as record sales die down and live touring faces big competition.”

Various hints about the album have been dropped over the years with the star even admitting to a perverse love of winding up fans, named The Navy.

She’s a famous tease but this is too far. Fans will be gutted.

Dua's Isle of Delight

DUA Lipa had clearly had enough of the recent weather in the UK when she jetted off to sunny St Lucia.

She got her bikini out at the earliest opportunity as she and Anwar Hadid flew more than 4,000 miles to the Caribbean.

It is believed the pair have gone there to quarantine so he can see his US family, because Covid restrictions mean UK residents are not allowed into the States at the moment.

A source close to Dua said: “He is homesick and desperate to see pregnant sister Gigi in New York but they’ve been told they’re not allowed into the US without Dua quarantining for a fortnight because she isn’t a US citizen.”

The star posted snaps on Instagram of herself in a series of colourful bikinis, prompting lots of her followers to ask her why she was there.

Mystery solved.

Booze? We had a Lottie

IT wasn’t just the public who couldn’t wait to get back into the boozers on Saturday – celebrities needed their thirst quenched too.

Lottie Moss seemed a little confused with her sexy but sensible choice of outfit.

She covered her mouth with a face mask but left little to the imagination with her dress.

The sister of supermodel Kate was out in West London partying at the Treehouse Hotel and was accompanied by a couple of friends.

She must have been well up for a night out, having embraced the quiet life in the Cotswolds with her sister.

Meanwhile, Ed Westwick looked very, er, hydrated as he stumbled out of a members’ club in Central London.

The Gossip Girl actor appeared more than a bit the worse for wear as he exited Annabel’s with model girlfriend Tamara Francesconi in the early hours of yesterday.

It’s good to see celebrities stumbling out of clubs again.

Robbie spooks up

HE’S struggled to sell his mansion in the countryside and now it’s clear why Robbie Williams is having such a hard time shifting it.

The Rock DJ singer has revealed he and his young daughter Teddy are being terrorised by a ghost.

It has got so bad, the seven-year-old can’t sleep in one of the bedrooms at the £9million pad in Wiltshire.

On an Instagram Live, Robbie said: “We have got a very, very old property – it is like a thousand years old.

“There is one room that I am suspicious of. It gives me the creeps.

“Teddy, our daughter was sleeping in there. She doesn’t any more.

“But when she was getting old enough to speak, I said to her, ‘Do you like the bedroom. Do you like the house?’ and she said, ‘I don’t like that house’.

“I said, ‘Why?’ And she said, ‘That room scares me’.

“I said, ‘OK, it scares me too. You don’t have to sleep there any more,’.”

Father of four Robbie and his wife Ayda are currently in Los Angeles but have been trying to sell the English pad since 2010.

He added: “I do believe energies can be left in houses. I did see the ghost of a dog once. It was Trixie, our cairn terrier who passed away.

“My sister came home and I looked down and there was Trixie jumping  up at her legs.

“And then I looked back and Trixie has gone. Who knows what that was.

“Was that a ghost or my mind playing tricks on me? What was that? Was that my mind replaying something I had seen 300 times?

“I don’t want to see a cat ghost. I would rather see a dog ghost.”

Sorry Rob – but I don’t think you can be fussy about the ghouls that spook you.

Gwyn's dope hope

GWYNETH Paltrow loves to tell people her latest health tips but she’s also keen to try them out.

The Hollywood actor has been sent marijuana by her comedian chum Chelsea Handler after asking for some.

Gwyn’s pal has started a business selling the drug, which is legal in some US states, and the star wanted to give it another try despite not reacting well to it before.

Gwyn said: “l like to have a drink but I had a bad experience with cannabis when I was younger and I had the cookie where I was incapacitated, so I never gravitated back towards it that much.”

Chelsea replied, claiming her product caters for women.

She told the Goop podcast: “You’re my target customer.

"People need to be reintroduced to the safety of cannabis and to understand that you use cannabis, cannabis doesn’t use you.”

Think I’ll pass.
