Ranvir Singh forced to host GMB with foot in icy water due to Strictly stint

Good Morning Britain star Ranvir Singh was back on our screens on Wednesday to present the ITV breakfast show for the first time since her sizzling Strictly Come Dancing debut on Saturday night.

The 43-year-old ITV political correspondent is a contestant on the latest series of the BBC dancing competition.

Ranvir and her partner Giovanni Pernice sailed through week one with a sexy Pasodoble and are now training for the second week.

The television presenter confessed on Wednesday's show that she was finding rehearsals "hard".

As Ranvir chatted to co-host Adil Ray about her Strictly training sessions, the camera penned to show she had one of her feet in a storage box filled with water underneath the desk.

As Adil laughed off the surprise under the desk, Ranvir quickly explained to viewers what was happening.

She admitted that dancing had left her very sore and said the GMB team had given her icy water to help soothe her pain.

Ranir said: "This week two malarkey is really hard.

"You've got hardly any days and you are learning a whole new dance."

Showing her painful foot, she explained that the water was soothing her aching body ahead of her next training session.

She proceeded to present the show, with her foot remaining in the box under the desk.

Ranvir later confirmed that she and Giovanni will perform the Quickstep to the song You Are The Sunshine Of My Life by Stevie Wonder on Saturday night.

The dynamic duo impressed viewers and judges alike during the first live show.

Judge Motsi Mabuse told Ranvir she was the most improved contestant since the launch show, with Ranvir's GMB pal and former Strictly contestant Kate Garraway also reaching out.

Reacting to her Strictly debut, Ranvir said: ""I watched the show back, because when you’re there you don’t get to see everything. I was an emotional wreck, I cried all the way through it. I just wept all the way through.

"It’s sort of quite terrifying and today in particular is because I had more time to learn that first routine, even though I was on GMB three times last week."

Ranvir was blown away by the positive feedback she received for the routine and admitted: "It’s just such a surprise really because I’ve got no dance experience, I’ve got nothing to compare it to.

"You’ve got nothing else in your armour. It’s not the best dances you remember but I remember watching Ed Balls and thinking, go for it."

Host Adil told Ranvir she looked "hot" and the clearly flattered star loved the compliment.
