Throwback snaps show the Cambridge-educated actress wearing a racy outfit and seductively puffing away in the noughties comedy Bruiser.
All the while she is wearing an eye-catching red wig during her raunchy sketch-show appearance.
It is a world away from the award-winning box-office favourites Olivia now finds herself in.
The tinsel-town star was crowned Best Actress at this year's Oscars ceremony in LA.
She scooped the top accolade for her role as Queen Anne in Hollywood hit The Favourite – starring alongside celeb royalty like Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz.
Mum-of-three Olivia herself acknowledged her stunning career rise during her poignant acceptance speech.
Speaking through tears of joy, she said: "Any little girl who's practising their speech on the telly, you never know!"
Olivia appeared in obscure BBC comedy Bruiser alongside other future a-listers Ricky Gervais and Martin Freeman.
It was written by David Mitchell and Robert Webb – who Olivia went on to appear alongside in Channel 4 cult comedy Peep Show.
From there, the newly-crowned national treasure moved to dramatic roles – becoming a household name on ITV's Broadchurch alongside David Tennant.
But the 2018/19 awards season topped off Olivia's staggering rise – winning a Golden Globe, Bafta and the Academy Award.
