Naga Munchetty’s interview with Culture Secretary ripped apart by BBC viewers: ‘Pointless’

BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty welcomed Oliver Dowden onto the show today to discuss whether viewers can expect the Stay at Home message to be lifted on Sunday by the Prime Minister. The Culture Secretary refused to speculate and consistently advised the public to wait until Boris Johnson’s address to the nation despite Munchetty pushing to address reports the lockdown could be lifted.

BBC viewers weren’t pleased with the interview and slammed both Munchetty’s questions and the Culture Secretary’s responses.

One said: “A complete non interview with the minister today. A complete waste of time. Didn’t answer a single question as far as I could see. @BBCBreakfast #BBCBreakfast.”

“Oliver Dowden really is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorcycle and no mistake. #BBCBreakfast,” another shared.

#BBCBreakfast tell us what Boris is gonna say on Sunday…no,” a third wrote alongside laughing emojis.

Someone else said: “#BBCBreakfast #bbcnews #skynews #BethRigby what is the point in asking politicians why the media is speculating on steps regarding easing of lockdown? We know nothing has changed yet. Your constant pointless speculation on rumour merely increases likelihood of a weakening lockdown!”
