Most iconic heart rate dances as Love Island’s raunchy challenge returns

Love Island fans are set to be treated to a racy evening tonight as the much-loved heart rate challenge makes a return.

The heart rate challenge sees the boys and girls trying to raise each other's pulses by dressing up in costumes and performing cheeky dances.

Fans went wild after last night’s teaser, which showed Italian stallion Davide dressed in leather hot pants and a cape, while Tasha Ghouri made a show-stopping entrance as Barbie.

The heart race challenge is a firm favourite among fans and has provided some truly iconic moments over the years.

As viewers look forward to tonight’s racy strip teases, we’ve taken a look at some of the most memorable heart rate dances in Love Island history.

Curtis Pritchard’s ‘King Julian’ dance

Curtis Pritchard’s dance from 2019 is one of the most memorable and loved heart rate dances in Love Island history.

Curtis, who is a professional dancer, made quite the impression during his heart rate dance on 2019’s series… but maybe not the right one.

Viewers compared poor Curtis to Madagascar's King Julian after he appeared for his dance dressed in sparkly pink hot pants and a flamboyant feather headdress.

It might not have been the sexiest performance, but it was certainly a memorable one.

Mary Bedford’s Little Mermaid costume

Another not-so-raunchy performance came from Mary Bedford’s heart rate dance in season seven.

While the other girls performed in an array of sex ensembles, fans were left baffled when Mary appeared in a Little Mermaid costume.

And fans are still talking about the iconic costume.

Many viewers took to Twitter to reminisce after last night’s teaser.

One person said: “Omg heart rate challenge! Throwback to when Mary had to wear Poundland’s leftover Halloween stock.”

While another said: “Never forget last year’s heart rate challenge doing Mary this dirty.”

Megan Barton-Hanson's raunchy performance

Megan Barton-Hanson’s heart rate dance during series 4 of the show is one of the raunchiest ones there’s ever been.

Megan, who now makes millions on OnlyFans, strutted in dressed in a burlesque costume before she straddled each of the boys during an erotic performance.

Her provocative dance moves left Wes almost speechless as he was left only able to stammer: “What the hell just happened.”

Another raunchy performance came from Molly-Mae during the fifth series.

Fans expected Molly to be timid during the challenge but were shocked when she went all-out while dressed as a sexy maid.

Molly’s tactic for the challenge was to “give each boy a little bit of a taster and then give Tommy the full whammy”.

During her dance, she paraded around the boys before moving to Tommy Fury as she sucked his fingers and gave him a passionate snog.

Mike Boateng’s butler in the buff

2020’s Winter Love Island provided a very memorable heart rate performance from Mike Boateng.

Mike appeared in very minimal clothing and gave a jaw-dropping performance that saw him licking legs and grinding up against the Love Island girls.

He definitely succeeded at getting pulses racing with the steamy dance.
