The following article contains major spoilers for next week’s Hollyoaks episodes, which can now be viewed on All 4 in the form of a boxset.
Hollyoaks has yet again treated fans to an early Christmas present by releasing all of this year’s festive and New year offerings online.
It’a going to be a holiday season to remember for the residents of the eponymous village, that’s for sure, with shock twists and drama aplenty for all involved.
Olivia Bradshaw (Emily Burnett) is at the centre of much of this year’s drama, as her wedding to Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) finally arrives.
But with Prince receiving attention online after a video of him rescuing DeMarcus Westwood (Tomi Ade) from a burning blaze goes viral, Olivia is seething over no-longer being the centre of attention.
In a bid to take back control, she meets with Hunter (Theo Graham), who returns home for twin brother Prince’s wedding. Hunter, however, doesn’t know who Olivia is, as she claims to be the bride’s bridesmaid Meredith.
One thing leads to another, and they end up sleeping together, with subsequent scenes seeing the schemer telling a floored Hunter the truth, ordering him to keep quiet.
But on the day of the wedding, Hunter comes clean to all those in attendance, revealing that vile Olivia tricked him into sleeping with her.
Prince initially agrees to forgive his bride-to-be, and even marries her, but he ultimately struggles to carry on with the charade, telling his new wife that their union is finally at an end.
Olivia, heartbroken, lashes out at all of the McQueens, telling everyone exactly what she thinks of them, before packing up her belongings and leaving, but not before one final showdown with Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox), who comments that the village will be better off without her.
Emily Burnett joined Hollyoaks back in July 2021, when she arrived back in the village with Prince as part of his comeback storyline.
Hollyoaks’ Xmas and New Year episodes can be streamed on All4 right now.
