As the wait for the last eight episodes of Lucifer season five continues, the cast and crew have already started teasing what’s in store for the show’s upcoming final instalment. On Twitter, one supporting actress recently thanked principal star Lesley-Ann Brandt after shooting a scene together, sending fans into a frenzy as they predicted what it could mean when the Netflix series returns.

Actress Genevieve Gauss has revealed she’ll be reprising her supporting role as Officer Cacuzza in the upcoming sixth season of Lucifer.

With the second half of season five still to come, her update has fuelled speculation that she could play a more prominent part in the series going ahead.

Gauss also confirmed she has a major scene with Mazikeen (played by Lesley-Ann Brandt) when she thanked her co-star in her latest post.

She wrote: “[Lesley-Ann Brandt] thank you for making my day!!”

“You are lovely and wonderful. I had an amazing time on set with my #lucifam.”

Lesley-Ann Brandt then replied: “You killed it lady. Thank you.”

Officer Cacuzza has only been a minor character so far, though supporting star Genevieve Gauss’ enthusiasm for the series has made her a favourite amongst some fans.

Furthermore, it seems the officer is set to play a crucial part in Lucifer’s final season as the actress confirmed she’ll be sharing the screen with Mazikeen the demon bounty hunter.

Rampant speculation has implied Cacuzza could have a role in Maze’s much theorised romance with returning guest character, Eve (Inbar Lavi).

One fan responded to Gauss’ tweet: “A scene between Maze and Officer Cacuzza.

“That could go many ways depending on if any of the theories I have seen are right. I am excited to see it anyways.”

Eve is confirmed to play a major role in the second part of Lucifer season five, though it is currently unknown if she’ll continue to be a member of the cast in season six.

The first woman originally came to town to seek out the affections of Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), but briefly developed a flirtatious rapport with his right hand demon.

Mazikeen was clearly smitten with Eve, but their potential relationship was cut short when she decided to end things with Lucifer and explore the earth.

Now her sabbatical seems to be coming to an end in the next instalment, Maze and Eve may finally be able to finish what they started when Lucifer continues.

Genevieve Gauss’ social media post also suggests Maze will be back on the side of good by the time Lucifer reaches its sixth season.

When the series last left off, Maze had defected with Lucifer’s evil twin brother Michael in hopes of eventually finding a soul.

Last year’s midseason finale featured an epic brawl between the twin brothers, Maze and Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside), who all wreaked havoc in the LAPD precinct.

If an appearance from Cacuzza is any indication, Maze will once again be working with Lucifer and the police on at least one of his various cases around Los Angeles.

Lucifer Season 5, Part 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
