Lucifer season four was well-received by fans of the franchise – however they quickly watched all ten available episodes and began clamouring for more.
It’s no surprise, either, as seasons one-to-three were comprised of 22 episodes, meaning the fifth season cut Lucifer fans time with the Devil (played by Tom Ellis) in half.
With rumours surrounding a potential fifth season swelling around the internet, the show’s writers and Tom – the Devil himself – took to the Lucifer Instagram account to answer some questions.
The trio set out to answer many questions about fifth season whilst adding, “If there is a season five…” to each answer.
Teasing a number of features in a fifth season, writer Joe Henderson first told the account’s 1.3 million followers she would like to see “full frontal” in the new episodes.
Fans then followed up this confession with inquiries about whether Chloe Decker (Lauren German) is an angel.
However, neither Joe nor co-writer Ildy Modrovich would confirm this detail, but instead giggled: “Lauren is [an angel]!”
Ildy then paused answering questions to tease a huge piece of season five (if there is one…).
He announced: “There will be a familiar face popping up in Hell to visit Lucifer – someone that Lucifans know well.”
Joe chimed in to joke: “Hitler?” With Ildy replying: “Probably!”
The spoilers for season five didn’t stop there, as Ildy spoke up once again to discuss the apparent prophecy regarding Lucifer’s evil being released.
He ominously said: “The prophecy actually – we never totally explained it.
“Which is true? Is Evil being released? Is evil being released from Lucifer?”
Although fans of the show came away from the Instagram Q and A with no real confirmation, the amount of detail they gave about season five was certainly promising.
Meanwhile, it was recently teased season five would see the introduction of a brand new character.
With petitions running online to bring Lucifer back for a fifth season, fans have also begun a new petition to bring Chloe star Lauren’s dog onto the show.
German Shepherd Pepper was nominated by the fandom, and Twitter users were adamant he ought to arrive on the show.
One wrote: “Petition for Pepper to be in Season five! She could be like, Chloe’s therapy dog after Lucifer left…”
Another said: “I never knew I needed Pepper to star as Chloe’s police dog until now.”
Lucifer season four is available on Netflix.
