Sherif Lanre has broken his silence after being kicked out of the Love Island villa, for ‘breaking the rules’.
Taking to his Instagram story, the 20-year-old shared a message for fans, explaining he was ‘all good’.
‘Thank you to everyone including my friends and family for the support I’ve come back to,’ he began to his 284k followers.
‘I appreciate you all and hope I provided some good, positive moments during my time on Love Island, and for anyone wondering, I’m all good.’
In true Sherif style, he added: ‘#ItIsWhatItIs #BiggerThingsToCome.’
However, he is still yet to discuss what exactly he had been thrown out of the villa for.
Sherif’s departure from the Mallorcan villa was announced yesterday.
A Love Island spokesperson shared a statement, which read: ‘After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa.’
The reality star – who was coupled up with Anna Vakili – added: ‘In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.
‘I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.’
Viewers have been left in the dark and demanding answers after voiceover Iain Stirling addressed his exit with one short line during last night’s episode.
‘Earlier today, following conversations with producers Sherif left the villa,’ he said.
‘But for the other islanders it’s another day in paradise.’
Fans took to social media with a string of rumours, speculating at what exactly went down, with a fake direct message thought to have been sent from the ITV2 star has been doing the rounds online, claiming he had a fight with co-star Anton Danyluk.
However, ITV confirmed this is not true.
And a mole later insisted his rule break was ‘not a criminal matter’ and his actions ‘would not be taken further’.
Megan Barton Hanson suggested it must have been ‘really serious’ for producers to take drastic action.
The 25-year-old, who starred in the show last year, wrote in the Sun: ‘I reckon he must have done some something serious, God knows what it was.
‘I don’t know what on earth it could have been. I know it’s a lot to go into with a show like this and you’ve got to be willing to stick to all the rules and regulations.
‘There’s always cameras on you 24/7 so they see everything. It’s a bit naive of him to try and get away with something on there.’
And it seems Sherif will not have a chance to explain his actions on Love Island spin-off show, After Sun, fronted by Caroline Flack.
‘There are no plans for Sherif to appear on After Sun,’ an insider confirmed.
‘The show is reserved for dumped Islanders and Sherif left under unforeseen circumstances.’
