Love Island's Maura Higgins caught shouting 'f***ot' on camera

Love Island’s latest bombshell Maura Higgins has been caught on camera shouting the homophobic slur ‘f**got’ in an emerged clip from friends.

The Irish lass, who is set to make her debut on the show tonight alongside Elma Pazar, was seen quoting 2009 film The Hangover in the clip, yelling out the phrase ‘Paging Dr. F**got’ in what appears to be a bar or restaurant.

Her friend, model Jennifer McSween, then carries on the quote-a-thon by asking the camera: ‘Are you ready to let the dogs out?’

The clip, found by MailOnline, was uploaded in March this year by Jennifer.

In response, Love Island has cracked down on the newbie before she enters the villa to remind them what they deem acceptable.

A Love Island spokesperson told about the incident: ‘We do not tolerate any offensive language in the villa and we speak to all of the islanders to remind them of what we condone to be acceptable behaviour during their time on the show.’

Model and grid girl Maura is about to shake things up in the villa, which couldn’t come at a better time following Sherif Lanre’s sudden and immediate exit from the show.

Vowing to be on the hunt for love, Maura has said that she’s willing to go to ‘extreme’ lengths to find and keep her guy.

Talking before entering the villa, Maura declared: ‘It can obviously be hard because you could be really close with one of the girls but you’re in there to find love at the end of the day.’

A self-proclaimed serial monogamist, Maura also said that she doesn’t like not having a boyfriend – after a nine year relationship was closely followed by a three-year one.

Will she be able to earn her place in the villa and turn the heads of one of the boys?

Love Island continues weekdays from 9pm on ITV2.
