Love Island blunder as new girl Rachel makes awkward gaffe while flirting with Brad – but did you spot it?

LOVE Island newcomer Rachel Finni got into a bit of flap while flirting with her Love Island co-stars last night.

The 29-year-old is a luxury travel specialist and wanted to show off her foodie credentials after arriving in the villa.

The Love Island 2021 star appeared to catch Brad's eye and did her best to impress him by displaying her knowledge of French cuisine.

During a cosy fireside chat, the Londoner asked Brad if he knew how to cook coq au vin, which she described as "duck with wine au français".

While Brad admitted he "didn't have a f***ing clue" what it was, some viewers suggested Rachel might not either.

Coq au vin is a French dish of chicken – not duck – braised with wine, lardons, mushrooms, and sometimes garlic.

Her foodie faux pas did not go unnoticed by fans who rushed to Twitter to point it out.

One said: "Can we talk about Rachel acting all entitled that Brad didn’t know what coq au vin was but she didn’t even know that it’s chicken not duck"

Another added: "Also, the absolute confidence with which Rachel incorrectly explained what Coq Au Vin is? the energy we can only aspire to."

And a third said: "We get it Rachel you are 29 and have been to Café Rouge before, relax with the coq au vin."

Rachel arrived at the end of episode five after a recoupling caused a stir in the villa.

Brad and Chuggs were left without a partner – and Rachel has to pick which one she likes the most.

When asked about her type, she said: "I love the way modern relationships are.

"I don’t need a man for anything. I can buy my own home and take care of myself.

"I just love knowing I have another person there that I’m going through life with."

Asked what men in the villa have caught her eye, she said: 'Aaron is very attractive and seems down to earth. Our jobs are similar so I think we'd have interesting conversations.

'Hugo seems like boyfriend material – handsome, charming – and I'd like to crack his shell a bit more.

"And Toby – he's attractive, cheeky. I'd definitely have a lot of fun with him but I need to see if he's worth pursuing."
