Louise Redknapp joined Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer on this morning’s Sunday Brunch to chat about her upcoming projects. Opening up about her recent return to music, the singer shared how she has always struggled to find the confidence to make a return. But after the backlash she experienced with her divorce she felt she had nothing to lose.
Simon posed Louise the question: “Why did it suddenly feel like the right time to do it again?”
“I think the ‘doesn’t feel like the right time’ was always me being slightly scared of going back into it,” she admitted.
“I think I had come out of such a successful band and such a lovely time in music.
“You know when you make music you want people to hear it, you want it to be successful. So I felt like I had so much to live up to,” continued Louise.
“And I think as the years went on I’ve just become more detached from what was really going on musically, my confidence, I hadn’t sung for a long time.
“And then I think I just got to this stage where I have nothing to lose,” shared the singer.
Louise went on to recall how: “I have been through everything in the last year.”
“What’s the worst thing that can happen? People not very nice about it? I have been there.
“So might as well give it a go. And thank god it went really well and it made me really happy,” she said.
