The God of Mischief, Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) has teamed up with the Time Variance Authority (TVA) to pursue a renegade Variant (Sophie Di Martino) who has been causing havoc across the Marvel timeline. After spotting a huge clue in the credits of the Disney+ series, fans may have finally figured out the true identity of ‘Lady Loki’.

Sophie Di Martino is the latest supervillain to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the second thrilling episode of Loki, on Disney+.

After the trickster God and the TVA landed on Earth in the 2050s, they cornered a troublesome Loki Variant who has been wreaking havoc throughout history.

It’s then revealed the agency has been hunting a female version of the iconic baddie, who proceeded to scatter reset charges across the timestream.

Comic book aficionados originally assumed the newcomer was none other than ‘Lady Loki’, a variation of the character first introduced back in 2008.

However, Marvel has been holding back from officially confirming the name of Di Martino’s character, even with her newly released character poster.

Now, a key clue spotted in the credits for Loki’s latest episode has caused even more debate amongst the Marvel fanbase.

The lengthy production credits for Loki confirmed a character called ‘Sylvie’ was voiced by the actress Elisa Beuter for the Spanish dub of the series.

Diehard Marvel fans noted the Variant shares the first name of Sylvie Lushton, a powerful sorceress who goes by the alter-ego Enchantress.

In the original comic books, the Enchantress was created by Loki as an agent of chaos to further his devious schemes.

Although the Variant still seems to be an alternate version of Loki, viewers are now considering the possibility she could be a combination of the two characters.

When the credit clue was spotted, one fan said on Reddit: “Could it be her female chosen name?

“MCU likes to kinda switch up characters to make them fit the narrative better, so maybe the MCU Enchantress will be a ‘Loki’ variant but one that no longer is Loki?”

And a second added: “Considering Mobius said the variant is Loki, I wonder if they make Lady Loki take up the name The Enchantress, and her chosen name be Sylvie.”

Some viewers also noted the Lady Loki introduced in the comics shares her male counterpart’s black hair, while Sylvie’s blonde look is much closer to the Enchantress.

Moreover, the Variant’s TVA features very briefly in the second episode and could reveal more about Sylvie’s background.

Some helpful fans have managed to zoom in on the document and confirmed the Variant’s full name is actually Sylvie Laufeydottir.

Much like Loki Laufeysson, this new piece of info seems to confirm Sylvie is the daughter of the Frost Giant known as Laufey (Colm Feore).

While Sylvie may indeed be a female version of the Norse God of Mischief from a parallel universe, she may reject this title and take up the mantle of the Enchantress instead.

Thankfully, director Kate Herron has confirmed more of the Variant’s origins will be explored in episode three, so hopefully fans will finally know Sylvie’s true identity in a matter of hours.
