Kim Kardashian slammed for 'cultural appropriation' after she wears tight braids in old resurfaced KUWTK clip

KIM Kardashian was slammed for cultural appropriation after a Keeping Up With The Kardashians clip resurfaced.

In the clip which was shared on TikTok, the 40-year-old reality star was seen rocking braids which she wanted to remove.

Kim said "I'm dying." as she asked sister Khloe Kardashian, 37, and Scott Disick, 38, for help in removing the dozens of blonde braids.

Scott happily cut some of them with scissors and compared it to "cutting carpet" before giving up when Kim asked him to unbraid some of the cut ends.

Fans took to the comments to accuse the star of cultural appropriation for wearing the style which is commonly worn in the black community.

One user wrote: "Culture vulture." while another wrote: "Why is she getting braids? They're not for her hair."

Another TikTok user commented: "Not y’all saying I love her braids when she literally tried to rename our culture."

"Well use your own culture then," came another comment, while another chimed in: "Aw it’s almost like braids aren’t for her hair."

Some fans stuck up for the star as they explained that Kim only got the braids so she could match her daughter North.

Talking to Bustle at the time, in 2018, Kim said: "I actually didn't see backlash. I actually did that look because North said she wanted braids and asked if I would do them with her.

"So we braided her hair and then we braided my hair. But I obviously know they're called Fulani braids and I know the origin of where they came from and I'm totally respectful of that. I'm not tone deaf to where I don't get it. I do get it."

It's not the first time Kim has been accused of cultural appropriation.

In January, fans slammed her for blackfishing after she tinted her skin with body makeup for a photoshoot.

It all kicked off after the reality star posted a photo of her hands on her Instagram Stories recently showing two very different shades of color.

In the snap, one of Kim's hands looks obviously lighter than the other as she wrote: "Body makeup is perfect for hands bc my hands are always pale & our formula is waterproof so you can wash your hands!

"We used color Light/Medium."

However, some fans weren't happy at all as a Twitter user shared the Story and wrote: "It must be so exhausting having to tint your skin darker every time you do a shoot or something."

People weren't done there as one person chimed in: "I mean she is also known for blackfishing a bunch. So I get the frustration."

"If she stopped wearing all that s**t, her skin might be able to catch some f***in' vitamin D and tan naturally," another added, while one agreed and said, "she can't monetize the sun tho."

This comes after Kim's estranged husband Kanye West admitted to cheating on her.

The rapper, 44, is said to have admitted to his alleged infidelity in his song Hurricane from the new album Donda – in which he sings about a "new chick" and "still playin' after two kids."

Ye betrayed Kim as he struggled with alcohol abuse according to Page Six, which first reported on the alleged cheating on Wednesday.

One insider claimed to the site: "The song is in a way his testimony of everything he did wrong and taking accountability for their marriage breakdown."

Another source claimed to the same outlet: "If you look closer to the lyrics he is referring to his infidelity during his marriage with Kim, even after two kids."

The Hurricane song supposedly alluded to the rapper supposedly never heading home to his mansion amid his struggle with alcohol abuse.

Kim filed for divorce back in February after seven years of marriage.

The two share four children together: North, eight, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, two.
