Clarkson’s scored the highest Day 1 ratings for any first-run syndication launch in seven years
Kelly Clarkson and Tamron Hall both made their daytime talk show debuts Monday and the results are in, with both scoring big in preliminary ratings.
“The Kelly Clarkson Show” premiere posted a weighted, metered-market average 1.9 rating/6 share, according to Nielsen’s overnight data. “Tamron Hall” started off with a 1.4/5.
While finalized, national ratings for the two shows won’t be available until Sept. 24, the preliminary numbers shows “Clarkson” got the highest Day 1 ratings for any first-run syndication launch in seven years. Clarkson also improved 73% over the year-ago period for the stations that carry her show.
“Hall” also improved on last year’s time periods, jumping 44% to a first place 2.3/9 in top market New York and rising 71% in Los Angeles. Overall, Hall’s debut was the highest for any daytime talk show in five years, other than Clarkson’s.
