In a recent episode of Louis Theroux’s BBC series Interviews, the broadcaster spoke to comedian Katherine Ryan. During their conversation, the star confessed it’s an “open secret” that a prominent TV personality is a sexual predator and she confronted them in front of a lot of people in her show.

Sitting down with Louis for a frank and honest interview, the journalist delved into a topic that the Canadian comedian detailed as dangerous.

It comes after the 39-year-old made claims earlier this year that a well-known TV personality is a sexual assault predator and no one has managed to nail them down.

Although the star didn’t name the individual, she said it was an open secret that many believe to be true.

When Louis asked her to explain what she meant in regards to the term predator, she replied: “I think I mean a perpetrator of sexual assault, but it is very dangerous for us to have this conversation.”

Katherine added that she was happy to have the chat but called it a “litigious minefield”.

The comic stated there have been many people in the past that have tried to out them for their alleged crimes but haven’t had success.

She continued: “This person has very good lawyers, so am I going to put my mortgage on the line by saying who this person is or entering into any conversations like that?

“We’ve seen what happens to the people who talk about alleged predators.”

Speaking to Louis on the subject, she admitted that it’s not really her story to tell as there haven’t been any sexual assaults made specifically against her.

She added: “But this person, I believe very strongly, so do a lot of people… is an open secret, is a perpetrator of sexual assault.

“I, in front of loads of people, in the format of the show said to this person’s face that they are a predator, again and again.”

However, during the unmentioned episode and show that she was referring to, there were parts that ended up being removed.

Continuing the conversation, Katherine brushed the edit off as she told Louis it was fine as she still got paid and the way she confronted them she felt was fair.

The comedian confessed that this is the safest way for women in her industry, along with actresses, to talk about it.

She added: “I didn’t tell any employer or blow or whistle or do anything at all, I handled it, for lack of a better term, like a man, and said it to his face.”

With no charge being brought forward, Louis questioned Katherine on whether or not her sources are credible.

However, the mum-of-two remained adamant as she told the journalist that these things are always eventually proven.

She commented: “You look at Bill Cosby and you look at Harvey Weinstein and you look at the unmentionable British personality, everybody knew. And they go, ‘Everybody knew.’

“I didn’t mean to cause, like, a stir about it. I say things as they are.”
