Jada Pinkett-Smith reveals she never wanted to marry Will and cried throughout their wedding day

The actress, 47, married the Switch star in 1997, but has now revealed she was "p***ed" all day long, as she was going through a "horrible" pregnancy with son Jaden at the time.

Jada made the confession on Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk, which saw her sit down with the actor, 50, as well as her mum Adrienne Banfield-Norris.

Looking back at their wedding day, Jada revealed it had been far from romantic – as she hadn't wanted to tie the knot at all, let alone while expecting.

She expalined: "I just knew I never wanted to be married.

"My first trimester was horrible. And I was so upset that I had to have a wedding. I was so p***ed. I went crying down the freaking aisle, I cried the whole way down the aisle."

Explaining her reasons for being against marriage, she went on: "I just never really agreed with the construct. I still don't.

"Til death do us part is real for me, but all of the rules and all of the ideas. This title "wife," the accepted conventional definition of wife in the paradigm – I'm not that."

Her mum later apologised, having made Jada feel pressured into marrying, while Will admitted becoming a husband had been his life-long dream.

He said: "There wasn't a day in my life that I wanted anything other than being married and having a family.

"From literally five years old, I was picturing what my family would be."

Despite the turbulent wedding the couple have been strong ever since, and welcomed son Jaden and daughter Willow soon after.

The same interview saw Will break down over a rough patch in their marriage,  which led the pair to brand themselves "life partners" rather than man and wife.
