It's Official! ABC Names Jesse Palmer as New Host of The Bachelor

It’s official: The Bachelor has a new host. Give a warm, rose-scented welcome to Jesse Palmer, who will join the franchise right in time for Clayton Echard’s season—which began filming today.

Longtime Bachelor Nation fans probably remember Jesse from his time on The Bachelor in Season 5, which aired allllll the way back in 2004. These days, the former NFL quarterback is a sports commentator on ESPN, as well as a special contributor for Good Morning America. He also has hosting experience thanks to his gig on ABC’s The Ultimate Surfer, as well as the 2018 reality show The Proposal. In other words, it kinda makes sense that he was picked as the next host considering his ties to both the show itself, as well as to ABC.

So…is Jesse going to be hosting the Bachelor Nation franchise permanently? TBD. Variety reports that as of now he’s just signed on for Season 26, but the “idea” is for him to continue hosting The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, while the hosting format for Bachelor in Paradise is “in flux.” Meanwhile, Michelle Young’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette is being hosted by Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams, who are definitely going to be missed!
