Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe reunited with her former partner Greg Lake in celebration of their son’s birthday.
The 39-year-old star rose to fame following her portrayal of Mercedes McQueen for the past 17 years and is a mum to Daye, six.
She shares her son with her ex-partner and former Geordie Shore alumnus Greg, 38, who she split from after eight years together, in 2020.
Despite their relationship breakdown, the parents jointly celebrated their boy’s birthday with Jennifer posting memories from the day to her Instagram on Monday.
The star uploaded a collection of snaps that showed her spending time with Greg as well as plenty of the party’s behind-the-scenes action.
In their adorable family photo, Greg lay across the floor while Jennifer knelt in front of a huge lit-up sign that spelt out the letters of Daye’s name.
She captioned the images – which also featured the rest of the party guests and some single shots of the star with her son – with a sweet message.
It read: ‘Happy birthday to our gorgeous boy here’s to another year of loving u Thank u for making Dayes day so special [sic].’
Underneath the wholesome post, fans and friends praised the star for her co-parenting skills and offered the little boy their well wishes.
One penned: ‘That’s so nice to have his mam and dad together for his bday, that’s how to parent [sic].’
Another offered: ‘That first photo is so amazing,’ while a separate social media user said: ‘Love the first pic @missjenjomet yes its so lovely that you can all get along and be together for Dayes day lol xx [sic].’
The Manchester-based actress opened up about her parenting relationship with her ex-boyfriend last year and told The Sun: ‘It’s as perfect as it can be.
‘Greg lives in Newcastle, so Daye visits him every other weekend.
‘We both have our child’s best interests at heart ultimately, so whatever that brings, it brings.’
She went on to share her feelings on expanding her family and revealed: ‘I’d absolutely love to have more kids.
‘I’d like to have five or six, but the time and person I’m with would have to be right. I’m reaching 40 next year so maybe I will have them frozen.
‘Judging by the logistics I really should, because I’d love a massive family.’
