Holly was cheering so loudly and bashing her spoon that it split in two.

She posted a picture of the shattered kitchen utensil, writing: "#clapforourcarers #nhs 👏🏼❤️."

Proving that Holly is not the first person to have broken a wooden cooking item during the sessions of applause, Ruth Langsford commented below: "Did the same last week….used a metal one last night!"

Like the nation, Holly has been out every week to cheer on the NHS with our united clap.

As we mentioned Ruth was out with her husband Eamonn Holmes and made sure their kitchenware didn't go the same way as Holly's with her explaining: "Swapped my wooden spoon for a metal one….much better!"

They were joined by the likes of Amanda Holden, along with Tess Daly and husband Vernon Kay who all showed their support for the NHS.

Police officers and firefighters sounded their sirens to show their appreciation, as other medics grinned and applauded outside their hospitals.

The first emotional Clap For Carers took place on Thursday, March 26, and has continued on a weekly basis.

Communities have used the clapping to give a much need morale-boost to the workers and also to uplift the nation's spirit during these difficult times.

In addition to NHS workers, retired personnel, as well as students nearing the end of their training, have joined the fight against coronavirus too and will also be heralded.

The Sun urged readers to get behind a weekly pause for thanks, and encouraged people to even turn their house blue in support — like 200 UK landmarks including Tower Bridge, the White Cliffs of Dover and Angel of the North near Gateshead.
