Coronation Street fans have started to wonder if Helen Flanagan could be making a return to the cobbles following her latest post on social media.
The actress, who played Rosie Webster, revealed that she had returned to work in Manchester, which of course is where the ITV soap is filmed.
‘I did a bit of work today in Manchester,’ she wrote on Instagram ‘[It] was so lovely… so nice to feel like “Helen” for a bit and not mummy.
‘Even though mummy is my favourite name.’
Fans were quick to comment on the post, with several hoping that this was a sign that she was returning to Corrie.
‘Time to do the Rosie thing again!!,’ wrote one, while another added: ‘PLEEEEAAAASE go back to Corrie!’
Helen made her final appearance as Rosie back in 2018, and viewers have long been hoping for her to make a cobbles comeback.
Whether or not she will do so remains to be seen, but a report in The Sun last year claimed that the star’s future on the show was ‘up in the air’.
‘It’s up in the air as to whether she will ever return,’ a source told the publication. She has other career dreams she’d like to work on before making up her mind.
‘She wants to focus on her three children and has other career dreams, including acting roles, she would like to work on before making up her mind whether to reprise her role as Rosie.’
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
