Hairy Bikers' Si King reveals solo project as Dave Myers continues brave cancer battle | The Sun

THE Hairy Bikers' Si King has today revealed he is taking on a solo project, while pal Dave Myers continues his brave cancer battle.

The popular cooking duo are known for always working together, after shooting to fame back in 2004.

But for a big event coming up in the summer, Si, 56, will be going it alone.

Taking to social media to announce thenews, the much-loved TV star shared: "EXCITING NEWS.

"I’m heading to @pubinthepark Leamington Spa and Tunbridge Wells in July, then Chiswick in September. Find me at the Saturday sessions at these locations! See you there? Head to the Pub in the Park website to sign up for early pre-sale access on 3rd Feb."

The Hairy Bikers are fan favourites, thanks to their long career as celebrity chefs.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast, the chef gave an update on his health battle, which was first diagnosed last April.

He said during the show: "The treatment is still ongoing but I'm kinda doing all right, it's like many people, it's something one learns to live with."

Dave shocked fans when he publicly announced he was undergoing cancer treatment.

He revealed that he would be a ‘baldy Biker’ for a while due to the side effects of chemotherapy – which caused him to lose his famous beard.

He revealed on his podcast with Si at the time: ‘Anyway Kingy, I’ve got to come clean now, I haven’t been too well recently and basically, I’ve got to have some chemo, you know all this anyway.

‘So this year is going to be a bit quiet for me, I’m not going to be filming, some of the festivals I’m not going to be able to go to, some may be okay but this year’s a bit of a write off for us."
