Gray Atkins' dark past with his abusive dad was exposed tonight on EastEnders, but viewers are predicting a horrifying twist is in store.
The lawyer, played by Toby-Alexander Smith, tried to get help for his violent outburts at wife Chantelle tonight.
And during therapy, he opened up about his abusive dad, who was frequently violent towards his mum.
"Sometimes I take my anger out on my wife and I don't want to do that anymore," he told the therapist in front of his concerned wife.
Revealing that his dad had been very strict with "high standards", he admitted that his dad had been violent.
He recalled: "I remember I was playing with this old toy once, wooden, rubbish old thing. Had it since I was a baby… and he came home one night after work, he took it off me and smashed it to pieces. Didn't say anything, just smashed it.
"I don't remember much about him, but I remember that. And shim shouting and arguing. But mum loved him – she never stopped loving him. Never remarried, never brought men home.
"She kept his picture up like he was dead. She blamed herself."
Gray added: "I said I'd never do what he did, not to my kids. I wouldn't be that man. I spent all my life working hard to be better than him. She died before I could prove it to mum."
However, it is later revealed that Gray was lying about his mum, who isn't actually dead.
And fans fear that that isn't the only thing he's lying about, and could have lied about the whole situation with his dad.
What is he really hiding? And what else will come out of the woodwork for Gray?
