Gogglebox stars land new job and change of career after going viral on TikTok | The Sun

FORMER Gogglebox stars George and Joe Baggs have landed a huge new media job over Christmas.

The pair are set to be a part of Radio 1's first ever TikTok takeover on Christmas Day.

George, 20, and Joe, 25, have landed a huge new gig and are set to the airwaves from 3:30pm.

The pair are set to give "fans the opportunity to hear their favourite TikTok stars in a completely different light", according to the broadcaster.

They station says the upcoming personalities will "soundtrack the Christmas celebrations" across the UK on Christmas Day as part of their initiative to search for up and coming talent.

Ten sensations from the social media site TikTok from the worlds of comedy, entertainment and music are set to take part from 2pm until 6pm.

This is a part of BBC Radio 1's wider plan to give 29 new DJs and presenters a chance to fill in as the main roster of names take their break over the festive season.

This comes after the Baggs family left fans devastated when they quit their post at the Channel 4 show earlier this year.

They were forced to skip one series because there "weren't enough cameras to go around", before finally waving goodbye for good in May 2022.

Viewers spent two years getting to know the family – including getting sneak peeks at their incredible Essex home.

Despite the hit of the popularity of the household with fans, mum-of-three Lisa previously took to social media to explain she and her brood had decided not to take part in the show’s 2020 run due to Covid – and insisted they hadn’t been dropped.

Joe backed up his mum on his own account, saying: "Frustrating to address this but we weren't dropped. Due to the lockdown there aren't enough cameras to go around to the entire cast, and therefore we decided as a family to take a series off.

"Of course there was criticism about us, the producers said this happens to all new families so it's not uncommon and not a reason people get cut from the show”, he added.

But the family are not just famed for their hilarious one-liners on the show, as they're equally as hilarious over on TikTok.

Boasting an impressive 1.4 million followers on the app under the handle @joebxggs, whilst he's racked up over 87 million likes on his posts.

Both Joe and George's TikToks mainly consist of family-related content, usually pranks, dancing or miming videos.
