Gloria Hunniford was told to wash her mouth out with soap after her 'f***ing*'blunder on today's Loose Women.
The veteran panellist covered her mouth with her hand after realising she had made a foul-mouthed gaffe.
Ironically, it came during a debate on whether certain words should be taken out of the Oxford English Dictionary for being offensive.
Gloria, who claimed she had never been one to swear, was telling a story about a discussion with her family when she blurted out something rude.
She said: "I’m not every proud of this but I was on holiday with my grandchildren recently. We were having a family discussion.
"I heard myself saying 'well you f-ing well know everything."
Covering her hand with her mouth, Gloria exclaimed: "Oh I shouldn’t have said that either."
Andrea McLean confirmed she could say that, but Brenda Edwards joked: "Go wash your mouth out with soap!"
This came after Gloria claimed that she had started to use more colourful language of late – then hinted it was because of Brenda.
"I don't know whose influence it is at all…Brenda," said Gloria, who said she was only teasing.
Shocked Brenda asked why Gloria "always comes" for her as the audience started giggling.
Gloria revealed she had a strict dad who would throw her out if she uttered a swear word.
She said: "One day I did say a word which was a bit like the f-word. I'd just washed my hair and my mum said 'you can't put her out in the cold'.
"He let me in again after half-an-hour."
Gloria sdmitted that she was a big fan of the dictionary and always asked for on at Sunday school.
She said: "I love the dictionary even to this day, but I don’t like the abbreviations and the American spellings going in.'
While Janet Street-Porter said she hated the "censorship" on the English language as it removes choices.
