Emmerdale April floors fans as they brand her ‘unrecognisable’ after soap return

Emmerdale viewers couldn't believe how grown up April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) looked as they caught a glimpse of her on Wednesday's episode.

April shocked viewers as she clashed with Ellis Chapman, before their row was interrupted by her dad Marlon Dingle.

Ellis snapped at April as she urged him not to fall out with his older brother Jay about their dad Al, who was caught out for cheating on Priya Sharma and Debbie Dingle at the same time.

He has been left furious by his dad's betrayal and has turned his back on his father, who decided it was time for him to leave the Dales to escape the drama.

But viewers were distracted from the row by how different April looked during her appearance.

She looked seriously grown up as she showed off long dark hair while dressed in a simple yellow jumper and jeans.

However, her appearance on the show was short, as Marlon quickly saved her from a furious Ellis, who told her that she wasn't wanted.

Later, fans were even more stunned when Marlon confirmed that she is only 11, as they rushed to social media to comment on her changing looks.

One posted: "Cripes, April has shot up hasn’t she?"

Another added: "Omg when did April on Emmerdale get so old?? she has grown up so much."

A third chipped in: "April has grown so much though."

A fourth said: "April looks so grown up!"

A fifth agreed: "Crikey!! Almost didn’t recognise April there."

April is indeed only 11, as she was born on August 13 back in 2009, the daughter of Marlon and his ex Donna Windsor.

Meanwhile, the episode was full of cross words tonight as Al also unleashed his fury at ex Debbie before fleeing the Dales.

There is no love lost between the pair after Debbie discovered he was engaged to Priya whilst declaring his feelings for her, and swore revenge on him.

Al was horrified to find that Priya and Debbie had engineered it to make it look like he had been stealing money from Kim Tate and the Sharmas, and soon worked out what had happened.

Will Al be back for revenge?

Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
