Devastated Max George breaks social media silence three days after death of best friend & The Wanted bandmate Tom Parker

DEVASTATED Max George has paid tribute to his best friend and The Wanted bandmate Tom Parker after the star's tragic death.

The heartbroken singer shared photos of his pal alongside an emotional post that left their fans in tears.

He spoke about forming the band in 2009 and being there on the night Tom met his future wife Kelsey in a club.

Max, who was by Tom's side when he passed away, shared: "Tom, my brother, my boy, my band mate, my best bud.. You lit up so many lives all over the world but I can only speak on behalf of mine.

"From the minute I met you, I knew this was gonna be a special chapter in my life. I was right. We did everything together, some amazing things, some outrageous things. Im so proud of what we achieved as band mates and as brothers.

"I’m also proud that I was there the night you met Kels. I remember saying to you, ‘you like her don’t you?’.. to which you replied, ‘bro, like you wouldn’t believe’. You two really are like peas and carrots.

Wanted star Tom Parker hoped he had years to live as he bought ‘forever home’

"Thank you for choosing me as your friend. It was an honour from day one. I’m so grateful I was with you until the very end. The courage and dignity I have witnessed over the last few months surpassed the lion I already knew you were.

"The huge hole now left in my life will forever be there, but I know your spirit will live on through your two beautiful babies, your wonderful wife, our music, your fans and in my heart."

He continued: "I’m heartbroken beyond words right now and I cannot even begin to imagine what the future holds without you, but whatever I do going forward, even on my darkest days, I can always smile and say, ‘I shared the stage with Tom Parker’.

"I am going to miss you so much. I love you mate. Always. George."

Tom leaves behind his wife and "soulmate" Kelsey, 30, and their two children Aurelia, two, and Bodhi, one.

The couple met in 2009 and said it was "love at first sight", marrying nine years later.

Kelsey announced Tom's tragic death on social media and said: "He changed so many lives in such a small amount of time. Tom Parker, I love you."

As well as his family, Tom's bandmates Max, Nathan Sykes, Siva Kaneswaran and Jay McGuinness were with him in his last moments.

They later posted a joint message on The Wanted's Instagram, saying: "Words can't express the loss and sadness we feel."

When Tom was diagnosed two years ago, his bandmates rallied round and initially planned a one-off concert at the Royal Albert Hall as part of Channel 4's Stand Up 4 Cancer campaign.

The event, which raised more than £31million for charity, opened the door to a 12-date UK tour last month.

In an interview with The Sun in September, the group revealed how Tom's diagnosis had made them realise the importance of friendship and said it was the driving force behind their reunion.

They released a greatest hits album last year and Tom said working with his bandmates again had given him something to focus on when he was at his lowest.

He said at the time: "The chemo was tough, brutally tough. It strips everything away, the bad and the good ? so you have nothing. I had nothing, I was so exhausted. I was so happy when it ended.

"When I was really poorly a few months ago, my daughter Aurelia wouldn't come near me.

"She wouldn't speak to me. I was poorly and she could tell.

"Now I am here (with the band) and I am doing it. I don't have time to feel sh***y."

Tom, who died of a brain tumour aged 33, will be seen on TV tonight with Max, also 33, in Celebrity Pointless.

They see off competition from other celeb pairs including Kimberley Nixon, 36, and Greg McHugh, 42, Dom Joly, 54, and Ria Lina, 41, Dominic Holland, 54, and Ninia Benjamin.

The duo make their way to the final round, aiming to win money for two charities the Brain Tumour Charity and Brain Research UK.
