David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) have been left facing a prison ordeal in Coronation Street as they have both been jailed in the wake of breaking their bail conditions. Gail Rodwell (Helen Worth) called a family meeting to try and sort out the friction in the broken clan.
As they passed an ornament so that they could take turns in speaking, tensions soon exploded and the ornament flew out of their grasp and struck Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) on the back of the head. As the police had to be called, they reminded David and Nick that by putting pressure on Audrey, they were in breach of their bail conditions.
They were quickly arrested and Gail was left with an ultimatum from her mum – go with her to the doctors or she will feel betrayed if she supported her criminal sons. Gail initially went with Audrey but couldn’t bear to leave David and Nick on their own.
In court, Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) tried to raise David’s allegation against Nick in relation to the factory collapse but the judge dismissed this as hearsay given that there was no police report.
As Audrey had been injured, the judge decided that she couldn’t trust David and Nick to adhere to their bail conditions and imprisoned them ahead of their trial next week.
As Gail despaired to see her sons head down to the cells, she will be left frantic and will blame herself. Next week, Nick tries to adapt to his change of lifestyle and soon finds himself out of his depth when he gets on the wrong side of his cellmate, Ash, much to David’s amusement.
But when Ash then tries to attack Nick, will David intervene or will he leave his brother to a beating?
