We know it’s a bit early to call, but every new Daredevil season three scoop gets us excited enough to assume it’ll be such a huge success we’re going to be seeing Daredevil shows on Netflix until the internet explodes.
Combining the return of the brilliant Kingpin (much missed from season two) with the addition of Bullseye – one of Daredevil’s most popular villains – should mean the upcoming series effortlessly hits the target for fans.
So, assuming the series continues to be one of Netflix’s most popular shows and it doesn’t end with three, what can we expect from season four?
Daredevil season 4 release date: When’s it out?
This is pretty impossible to predict. Daredevil took a longer gap between seasons than expected, because of complications arising from team-up mini-series The Defenders. We’ve had to wait two years between seasons two and three, and the same could happen for four.
“The biggest issue [with Daredevil] was the timing of production and launching of The Defenders because what that meant is we had to shut down all of the shows, so all the actors [could] be available for The Defenders so it’s more [a] function of that,” Netflix executive Cindy Holland said.
“There is no problem with this season, I think it’s fantastic, it’s a real return to form in my view.”
But if The Defenders were to return for another season – as is being rumoured – they could get around the problem by not including Daredevil in the line-up.
“There are lots of Avengers, and through that, you should be able to ascertain that there may be lots of Defenders,” showrunner Jeph Loeb said when asked about The Defenders season two. “And it doesn’t mean that it even has to be with the original characters that were in the first Defenders.”

Daredevil season 4 trailer: When will we see it?
Much like the release date, we’ll probably have to wait for as long as Kingpin in prison to see it set free, but if it’s anything like the season three teaser and also the full trailer, it’ll be worth the wait. Our best guess is New York Comic Con 2019, but that could also be massively wishful thinking.
Daredevil season 4 cast: Who will be in it?
It’s pretty safe to say that title star Charlie Cox will return. Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page will be back as will Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson.
After missing him so much in season two, we don’t want Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk to be benched again, so let’s hope he’s back following a successful season three.
And it would be nice to see Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher return after his season twos debut and subsequently hugely successful solo series.
Daredevil season 4 villains: Who will he fight?
Alongside the returning actors, we’ll get whole new cast members, because each Marvel Netflix show has taken the opportunity to introduce new villains with every returning season.
And Daredevil has plenty of iconic baddies who are still waiting for a live action debut. While we’ve got The Owl at the top of our wishlist (he’s an owl-themed crime lord who has NOTHING to do with The Penguin and how dare you suggest it), a more realistic guess would be Tombstone, who’s played a part in some of the most significant comic narratives, and has a fairly easy link to the Netflix MCU in that he’s one of Kingpin’s goons.
A giant albino man with filed teeth, Tombstone is a notorious New York crime boss and we’d like him to be played by either Michael Shannon or Ron Perlman, please.
Another contender is Death’s Head, mainly because he’s Karen Page’s dad. He’s a scientist turned supervillain who gained powers from an accident, which would parallel nicely with Matt Murdock’s origins. We’ll take David Caruso for this one, thanks.
