‘Daredevil’ Revival Is in the Works on Disney+ After ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Surprise Cameo

Rumors that the streaming platform is planning to revive the live-action series centering on the masked vigilante have been swirling around following the character’s cameo in the blockbuster movie.

AceShowbiz -The masked vigilante is back. It has been reported that Disney+ is developing a continuation of “Daredevil” which previously aired on Netflix for three seasons. Variety reveals that Matt Corman and Chris Ord are set to write and executive produce.

The exciting news arrived after Charlie Cox reprised the role of the Man Without Fear in “Spider-Man: No Way Home“. However, it remains unclear if the upcoming project will directly address the events of the Netflix series.

Rumors that Disney+ is planning to revive the live-action series have been swirling around following Daredevil’s surprise cameo in the blockbuster movie. In the movie, Daredevil’s alter-ego, attorney-at-law Matt Murdock, got Peter Parker out of a legal bind. Further fueling the speculations is the fact that Vincent D’Onofrio appeared on Disney+’s “Hawkeye” as his “Daredevil” character, Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin.

Of his secret cameo in the flick, Cox told Digital Spy that he enjoyed keeping it a secret from fans as well as his mate and co-star Andrew Garfield. “We’ve been mates for many years,” he explained. “Someone sent me a video… Someone had cut a video on YouTube of me and him, not together, in interviews and stumbling over questions, trying not to answer.”

“It was like, someone had cut together a video of us going, ‘I… well… I don’t know. I can’t say.’ And just stumbling,” he shared. “Someone sent it to me. I thought it was very funny, and I forwarded it to him. But we haven’t actually talked about it.”

Disney has been bringing more Marvel heroes under one umbrella. Among Marvel Cinematic Universe shows that recently debuted on the platform is “Moon Knight” starring Oscar Isaac. “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law“, which stars Tatiana Maslany as the titular character, is set to premiere on August 17.

As for Corman and Ord, the two writers famously worked together for USA Network’s “Covert Affair“. Running for five seasons on the basic cabler between 2010 and 2014, the show starred Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham. They most recently teamed up for NBC’s drama shows “The Enemy Within” and “The Brave” in addition to The CW’s “Containment“.

Marvel Studios’ reps have yet to respond to the report. Meanwhile, reps for Corman and Ord decline to comment.
