EastEnders hardman Danny Dyer has reportedly been lined up to host Have I Got News For You next month.
The actor is said to have impressed show bosses with his "everyman approach" and will give the audience a break from the "endless posh presenters".
A BBC source said: “The BBC has endless posh presenters but Danny offers something different.
“Beeb bosses think he makes dull topics accessible, and they think he’ll do a good job at holding the fort on Have I Got News For You."
They added to The Sun: “All being well, he’ll front the show next month and the public will get more of his succinct views on the state of Britain.”
Danny will also be experiencing how his ancesters lived for a new series that will see him learning to hunt, like William the Conqueror – his 30x great-grandfather.
"I’m still in shock at the fact that I’m related to such important people," he said.
"I’ve had a ball getting to know them. It was a nutty experience."
It comes as Danny’s daughter Dani is set to score a big break in Hollywood thanks to her unlikely friend, rapper 50 Cent.
Fiddy, real name Curtis Jackson, first found fame with his hit In Da Club, but now counts the likes of Bruce Willis and John Cusack amongst his co-stars.
And he’s promised to use his contacts to turn the Love Island winner into a bona fide star -because he’s secret besties with Danny.
"I’ve watched most of the big UK crime and gangster movies, going back to Lock Stock and Snatch, Layer Cake and the more recent ones my boy Danny [Dyer has been in]," he recently told the Daily Star.
