Coronation Street spoilers have revealed a number of major storylines will come to a head next week, with tragic losses and shock arrests on the horizon.
Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) has fought valiantly to save her young son Oliver's life as he battles an incurable disease, but she will be forced to turn off his life support in devastating upcoming scenes.
Meanwhile, the police show up to send Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) behind bars, but not before he goes to great lengths to end his marriage to Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews).
On top of that, Geoff Metcalfe's (Ian Bartholomew) behaviour leaves Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) suspicious, as she starts to get ideas about what happened to Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) in the hours before her disappearance.
In another twist, Peter Barlow's (Chris Gascoyne) relationship with Carla Connor (Alison King) is on the rocks, while Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) and Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) give their failed marriage another go.
Below, we take a look at some of the most surprising Corrie spoilers of the week, as the drama in Weatherfield takes a few unexpected twists and turns.
Child loss heartbreak
Unable to face the truth, Leanne seeks legal aid in an effort to sue the hospital for negligence, but every lawyer she contacts refuses to accept the case.
When Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) also declines to take her case Leanne is devastated, and barricades him inside the office, ordering him to change his mind.
Concerned by her behaviour, Leanne's loved ones gather around her, urging her to return to the hospital where Oliver is confined to his bed.
The child suffers an arrest in the ward, as Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) pleads with Leanne to let him die with dignity.
Leanne tries to put the traumatising experience off, revealing she needs to return home to get little Ollie's favourite pyjamas.
Later, the heartbroken mum and dad sing young Oliver the song You Are My Sunshine, as he passes away quietly.
That evening, Leanne returns to their home, where she lays on Oliver's bed and sobs her heart out.
Johnny opens up to Jenny about his guilt over the security guard's death, revealing he will never stop feeling responsible for his descent into alcoholism.
When the late guard's mother Maureen arrives in the bar, Johnny tells her he was responsible for her son's drinking problem, confessing to leaving him for dead during a botched robbery.
Jenny tries to plead with Maureen, but she is devastated when she realises she is likely heading straight to the police station.
Refusing to believe her husband is about to be sent behind bars, Jenny invites her step-daughter Daisy over for dinner, determined to bury her head in the sand.
Johnny decides to face the music, and plots to turn Jenny against him in an effort to make his potential prison sentence easier to swallow.
He tells Daisy all about his affair with Liz and his criminal past, resulting in a volatile row between himself and Jenny.
Suddenly, the police burst in and arrest Johnny, with Maureen having given a statement.
Is Johnny destined for a life in prison – and what could it mean for his marriage?
Makeups and potential breakups
Things are looking rocky for Peter and Carla, as the factory boss is nowhere to be seen when he calls by to invite her out for lunch.
Later, he starts to feel a little suspicious, wondering where Carla has vanished to.
Meanwhile, Adam begs Sarah to give him another chance, refusing to sack in their marriage just yet.
Apparently giving in, Sarah invites him out for a drink, waving a white flag in their relationship.
Could this be a turning point for the lovebirds?
The hunt for Elaine continues
In an act of defiance, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) agrees to become Yasmeen Nazir’s (Shelley King) witness, speaking out against his father in the trial.
Later, Ray Crosby (Mark Frost) offers Geoff a serious payout in exchange for the deeds to number six, successfully convincing him to hand over the paperwork.
Geoff then tells Alya he is selling up and moving to Cyprus, raising her suspicions.
When Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) tracks Geoff's satnav and learns he has been spending time in Oldham – where Elaine lived – their curiosity deepens.
Later, she witnesses Geoff returning to the house with an overnight bag, inspiring her to break into his house to hunt down the Oldham address.
With Tim by her side, the pair desperately search for more information, only for Geoff to catch them in the act.
After getting booted out of the house, will Alya and Tim ever find out the truth about what happened to Elaine?
