Actor Darren Morfitt is the latest addition to the Coronation Street cast stepping into the role of suspicious newcomer Dom Everett.

His character's arrival promises to turn Stu Carpenter’s life completely upside down, with Dom's true intentions shrouded in mystery.

He discovers that Stu, Eliza's grandfather, is now wealthy thanks to substantial compensation for wrongful imprisonment.

However, beyond the cobbled streets of Weatherfield, the ITV soap star's life looks very different, filled with Hollywood roles and a famous spouse.

Daily Star has taken a glimpse into the actor's life when the cameras aren't rolling.

Her talent even shone brightly on the stage, as she emerged victorious in a Stars in Their Eyes celebrity special, where she dazzled the audience with her rendition of Dolly Parton's "9 to 5."

Notably, she has also lent her support to meaningful causes, such as The Stroke Association, by starring in an advert that raises awareness about strokes.

Their love story began in 1995 when fate brought them together at Darren's theatre school, before marrying in 2004 surrounded by their closest friends and family.

    Hollywood roles

Outside the world of soaps, actor Darren boasts a diverse portfolio that stretches to major Hollywood blockbusters such as Line of Duty and Star Wars: The Last Jedi
